Inshore
Fishing Charters

Most of the inshore fishing spots are no more than 10 – 15 minutes away from the launch, giving you the optimum time to fish and very little time traveling.

Launching Times

Launching times are usually negotiated with the customers during the booking. These times usually depend on the fish species currently available, the tides and weather conditions as well as the customer’s requests. Tinta, our charter boat, is fully equipped for night fishing and has been night-rated. We can launch in the morning afternoon or the evening.

Trip Duration

Our standard fishing charter trips usually last around 5 to 6 hours. Longer trips are available and pricing for these will be negotiated on an individual basis.

Pricing

The pricing of charters depends on the number of people, the duration of the charter, the species targeted, and other factors. We can accommodate one to 5 people at a time on Tinta, but we also have more vessels available and can accommodate large groups.

Inshore
Fishing Charters

We offer a variety of Fishing Charters on the West Coast other than Estuary Fishing. Depending on the time of year, we can target Snoek, Geelstert, Tuna, Crayfish- (when in season), and other species. To reduce travelling time at sea, we launch these charters from different sites depending on where the fish are biting.

Launching Times

Depending on the tides, we try and get on the water early, but are always willing to accommodate customers when requests are reasonable.

Venue

Depending on the customer and season, we launch at the following venues:

Frequently asked questions (FAQ):

Yes – It is illegal to fish in South Africa without a permit. These permits are not expensive and can be obtained from the nearest Post Office. Unfortunately, the charter operator is not allowed to take this out on behalf of the customer.

You should remember to take some sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Dress according to the weather and if unsure, take something warm with.  Any shoes are fine, even flip-flops.

Provided you stay within the normal “bag limits” as set out by the regulators and that your fish is of legal size, you get to keep the fish you catch on our charters.

You are welcome to bring some beers and wine with you on your trip. It is important to note however that the consumption on a charter must be moderate and too much alcohol could spoil your or your fellow fishermen’s day. The Captain has the right to end the charter should he feel that the consumption of alcohol has become out of control.

When we fish in the estuary there are no age restrictions on the boat. We recommend however that children, under 5 years old, should only come on relatively calm days. Kids under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or have written consent from a parent.

We are experts at teaching beginners how to fish. We love what we do and welcome newcomers to the sport with open arms. Informing us at the time of the booking will ensure that we are ready to accommodate you

Unfortunately not. The success rate of fishing in the estuary however far exceeds that of fishing in the open sea. Our experience on the lagoon ensures that the chance of not catching fish is very small.

Fishing on the Lagoon is very safe compared to any other saltwater fishing in South Africa. We are always within sight of the coast and there are many places to offload people should it be necessary.
